Reassembled Faces is a series of digital interactive collages that deconstructs and reconstructs the human face to question what we take as fixed — age, identity, and the self. Built from fragmented photographic portraits, each work responds to the viewer's cursor in real time, turning the act of looking into an act of transformation.
Temporal Layers
Temporal Layers merges portraits of two women from different generations into a single composite face. As the cursor moves across the image, the older woman's features gradually surface and recede, letting the face drift fluidly between youth and age — a meditation on time, impermanence, and the transformation of human appearance.
Unfixed Self
The Unfixed Self fuses portraits of six women from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds into one face that belongs to no one. Punctuated by high-saturation color blocks and lines that echo the energy and complexity of cross-cultural identity, the composition scrambles when the cursor hovers over it — fragmenting into an ever-shifting arrangement — and seamlessly restores itself once the cursor leaves. This cycle of disruption and recovery mirrors how identity bends under social and environmental forces, yet continually reassembles itself.
Together, the two works frame the face as something never final: shaped by time, layered with countless influences, and reassembled anew in every encounter. In an era of cultural intersection, the series asks — is the self truly singular, or a composite of everything that has touched it?
